Born in Italy to a relatively wealthy pureblood line, Viggo Salvatore DeVinicia is the only son of Marco and Angelina's four children and he was reared to be a prominent figure in local pureblood circles.

Viggo, the third child, was quick to establish himself as guardian over his siblings and his magic aptitude was made clear at the age of six, when he felt the need to step up and defend his oldest sisters honor. During a social affair at the family's home, his sister Gemma was accosted by a suitor who was openly refused by the family, Amando Giancarlo.

When Amando began pulling on Gemma by the arm, Viggo rushed up with his fathers wand, and while he attempted to simply poke the young man in the gut, he inadvertently caused the 'assailant' to begin spitting streams of feathers from his mouth with every breath. As it was a wizards gathering, there was no need for memory modifications, and young Viggo was openly chastised (though silently praised).

Honestly, many outbursts like this began to dot Viggo's youth, usually surrounding his short temper. What would have been a prelude to his enrollment in the Italian Wizarding School was changed when the family relocated to London.

Losing favor within the eyes of the family, Marco DeVinicia (through a short succession of unfortunate business moves) was politely 'asked' to relocate in an attempt to branch certain family business operations with greater London. Success in this venture would provide a bit of respect to be regained by Marco. Until then, much of the family's wealth and resources would not be accessible. There was no question as to the change and none of the family would have voiced concern if they had any. Viggo, himself, was quite happy with the relocation due to it's proximity to a favored cousin, Isabella.

Naturally, Viggo eventually received a letter from Hogwarts, where he was unsurprisingly sorted into the house of Slytherin.

Looking upon Viggo DeVinicia, many are suprised at the boy's height at such a young age. A tall and slender figure, his appearance generally belies his physique. Seemingly thin or even gangly, Viggo already shows the lean sinewy form of his father. His long and lean musculature is generally unknown until one lays hands on him, feeling a shocking absence of fat on the boy.

A face with sharp features dominates his slight frame. Between strikingly black eyes, his nose is narrow and straight, with pencil-thin lips. The thick black hair on his head lays flat and sleek, ending where his long neck meets his shoulders. As if to off-set the darkness of his hair and eyes, Viggo has a pale olive complexion and fair skin.
